The Express passenger van is equipped with four rows of seats for 12-person capacity with the short wheelbase, or five rows of seats for 15-person capacity with the long wheelbase.

Engine and Performance
The 2026 City Express is offered with a single engine, a 2.0-liter I-4 that produces 131 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque. This engine is only compatible with a CVT. Similar to the Nissan NV200, the EPA rates the 2026 City Express at 24/26 mpg city/highway. Its highway fuel efficiency is marginally less than that of rival vehicles like the Ford Transit Connect and Ram ProMaster City, though. With a maximum load volume of 122.7 cubic feet, it is not as large as the cargo van versions of the Ford Transit Connect and the Ram ProMaster City.
The base LS variant is equipped with cloth upholstery, keyless entry, a two-speaker audio system, 15-inch steel wheels, and a radio. Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, remote keyless entry, rear park assist, and electrically heated side mirrors are added to the higher-level LT trim. Options include 15-inch alloy wheels, a USB port, satellite radio, navigation, a rearview camera, and body-colored door handles, side mirrors, and a chrome grille as part of the look package.
2026 Chevy City Fuel Economy
Although we haven’t reviewed the 2016 City Express, we did review the mechanically similar Nissan NV200. In a 2013 First Test and Long-Term Arrival review, we said that the van is focused purely on functionality and its extra features are all aimed towards being utilitarian. The seats in the NV200 are a strong point because they offer plenty of comfort for long drives; however, they are fixed at a maximum height and feel like they’re tipped forward. The 2.0-liter I-4 and the CVT are good in the city but at highway speeds, the van struggles due to its lack of power. 2026 Chevy City Express Specs
2026 Chevy City Safety Features
Even compared to other commercial vans, the 2024 Express is light on driver assist and active safety features. Forward collision warning, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and basic cruise control are optional or included depending on specification. 2026 Chevy City Express Specs
In comparison to most modern vehicles, the Express is about as high-tech as a floppy disk. Standard equipment includes a head unit with MP3 player functionality and AM/FM radio, controlled via a small LCD display. Regulations dictate that all new vehicles must be equipped with a backup camera, so the Express hides a tiny LCD display inside its rearview mirror, which activates when reversing. Optional upgrades include a USB port, Bluetooth, and satellite radio with steering-wheel-mounted controls.
