2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1 Redesign and Update Plan
Every Silverado HD comes with a touchscreen that supports Chevy’s Google-based infotainment interface, which includes standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It features a useful volume and tuning knob as well as some physical buttons and voice commands that supplement the touch-sensitive display. The infotainment system also allows users to store different trailer profiles to monitor maintenance and even control trailer functions via a smartphone app. A larger 13.4-inch touchscreen is standard on LT, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2 models; those trims also offer an integrated wireless smartphone charging pad. 2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1 MSRP
Exterior & Interior
Like any other vehicle, the Corvette’s design and general shape have evolved dramatically since its introduction in 1953. But from generation to generation, no design overhaul has been as jarring as the C8’s. Since the C5 debuted in the mid-’90s, it’s been easy to see the last generation in the current design. That stopped with the C8. 2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1 MSRP

Heavy-duty trucks are judged by their maximum towing and payload ratings, even if those massive loads are never actually tested by most people. The gasoline-powered Silverado HD can tow up to 17,400 pounds, and the diesel version can pull up to 36,000 pounds. The strongest Silverado 3500HD with the regular cab and dual-rear-wheel axle can carry up to 7442 pounds of payload. 2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1 MSRP
Engine & Performance
The Stingray’s mill isn’t all that different from the LT1 found under the hood of the C7, but it is more powerful, bringing a solid 490 hp of grunt and 465 ft lbs of torque (compared to 455 hp and 460 ft lbs of torque last generation). The new powertrain enables the car to shoot from zero to 60 mph in less than three seconds. The C8 can also complete the quarter-mile in just over 11 seconds and reach a top speed of 184 mph. 2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1 MSRP
And if that’s not enough for you, the Z51 performance package, which includes a dual-mode performance exhaust, boosts the horsepower and torque figures to 495 hp and 470 ft lbs, respectively, giving all other performance numbers a lift as well. One thing to note: There is only one transmission option, a Tremec 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, something that has caused consternation among the faithful.
2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1 Fuel Economy
Since the EPA doesn’t test vehicles as heavy as the Silverado HD and its colossal competitors, we can only judge their real-world mpg on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route. We haven’t had the chance to test the 2026 Silverado HD, but when we do we’ll update this story with its results. 2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1 MSRP
2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1 Safety Features
Every Silverado HD is available with a host of driver-assistance technology, and several trailer-specific assists make towing easier. There’s even a useful multiview camera system that includes a transparent mode that makes maneuvering in parking lots and merging onto the highway easier when towing by allowing the driver to virtually see through the trailer. For more information about the Silverado HD’s crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include:
- Available forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking
- Available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert
- Available adaptive cruise control. 2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1 MSRP
2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1 Release Date & Price
While the 2026 Chevy Corvette’s base price is $2000 higher than last year, the Stingray coupe still starts under $70K, which means America’s mid-engined sports car isn’t out of reach for most people. The hybrid all-wheel-drive Corvette E-Ray and 670-hp Corvette ZR1—not so much. 2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1 MSRP
Those looking to set the most heroic lap times will have the Corvette ZR1 in their sights. However, to own the rights to its exclusive and exotic naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V-8 requires deep pockets, as in at least $109,695 for the 1LZ coupe (only $400 more than last year).
