Exterior and Interior
We’ve yet to see an official release or spy shots revealing what the 2026 Cobalt Sedan might look like, but we’re not expecting too drastic of a departure from the aesthetic of the previous-generation model. We’re not sure what Chevrolet has in store for the 2026 Cobalt Sedan’s interior, though we suspect that the automaker will stick to keeping things simple on the inside. 2026 Chevy Cobalt Sedan Pictures
2026 Chevy Cobalt Sedan Specs
The 2026 Cobalt Sedan’s infotainment system is a standard six-speaker audio configuration, however 2LT owners can opt to a Bose system with an additional speaker and subwoofer. This also has wireless device charging and rear USB ports. An eight-inch driver information center may be modified, and wireless smartphone mirroring and satellite radio are controlled via a large 10.2-inch touchscreen with voice recognition.
Engine and Performance
The upcoming 2026 Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan is expected to come with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack. Additionally, the EV will move to utilizing GM’s Ultium technology. GM CEO Mary Barra, has confirmed that the upcoming Cobalt Sedan will have more range than the prior model that can travel up to 259 miles on a single charge. With modern EVs targeting 300 miles of range, we’d be surprised to see the 2026 Cobalt Sedan have less than 300 miles of range. We still expect the 2026 Cobalt Sedan to come with a single electric motor on the front wheels, as an all-wheel-drive model would compete with the brand’s other EVs. 2026 Chevy Cobalt Sedan Pictures
2026 Chevy Cobalt Sedan Fuel Economy
The 2026 Cobalt Sedan generates 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque with the now-ubiquitous mix of batteries and an electric motor, which is only directed to the front wheels. There are no gears to worry about, and using the One Pedal Driving mode essentially reduces the number of pedals to just one.
The EPA predicts that this electric vehicle will achieve 131 MPGe in the city, 109 on the highway, and 120 combined. The battery’s expected range is 259 miles, and DC quick charging is capable of charging up to 100 miles in under an hour. 2026 Chevy Cobalt Sedan Pictures
2026 Chevy Cobalt Sedan Safety Features
The 2026 Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan will likely include more sophisticated safety features than the present model. The current Cobalt Sedan is equipped with front collision warning, automated emergency braking and pedestrian recognition. The current model’s safety features include adaptive cruise control, a surround-view parking camera, rear cross-traffic warning, blind spot monitoring, and rear parking sensors. 2026 Chevy Cobalt Sedan Pictures
2026 Chevy Cobalt Sedan Price and Release Date
We don’t know how much the 2026 Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan will cost when it arrives on sale. Per Inside EVs, GM is aiming for the next-gen bolt to be “the most affordable vehicle on the market”. We expect pricing to increase from the current model which starts at $27,495. By the time the 2026 Cobalt Sedan is introduced, the EV could be facing new competition.
Other competitors in this segment include the Nissan Leaf, MINI Electric Hardtop, Hyundai Kona Electric, and Kia Niro EV. Chevrolet has not announced a release date for the 2026 Cobalt Sedan yet. We’re tentatively referring to the next-gen Bolt as a 2026 model, but there’s a chance it will arrive as a 2026. 2026 Chevy Cobalt Sedan Pictures
