2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Reviews, Images, Dimensions – Not long after the Blazer name was revived, the 2026 Chevrolet Trailblazer was also revived. Of fact, these are all only designations; the Trailblazer has evolved into a little SUV using a unibody construction and offering the choice of front- or all-wheel drive. In the past, it was a vehicle that was pulled by trucks. It occupies a mid-range position in Chevrolet’s lineup, between the smaller Trax and the larger Equinox.

Available in front-wheel drive versions, the Trailblazer starts at $23,798 and goes up to $27,188. The base price for an all-wheel-drive setup is $25,798. Starting at $30,498 you can choose one of two top-tier all-wheel drive (AWD) trims: the off-road-focused Activ or the RS, the latter of which I had the chance to test drive.

Exterior and Interior

The cabin of the Trailblazer is roomy compared to its size, and it has a huge amount of cargo capacity. The seats are more plush and supportive than what I’d expect to find in the sector, and the front footwells provide ample space for extending one’s feet.2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Interior

Although the back seats lack the front ones’ contours, they serve their purpose well. For the convenience of rear-seat passengers, the RS also has a center armrest that can be pulled down. You shouldn’t, of course, spend too much time in the center seat—or in any large vehicle, for that matter. The legroom in the back seats is excellent unless you recline the front seats all the way to the floor. People seated in the back, however, still have plenty of room to put their feet. 2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Reviews

2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Specs

Engine and Performance

Standard features on the entry-level LS model include automatic high-beam headlights, a seven-inch touchscreen with a Wi-Fi hotspot, air conditioning, 17-inch alloy wheels, a flat-folding front seat, and Teen Driver, an app that lets parents adjust the vehicle’s speed and volume. The wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard on all trim levels. GM developed these systems at one of its Canadian facilities. In addition to debuting on the Trailblazer, it will be standard on all General Motors cars sold globally.2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Specs

As a result of its many convenient features, like heated mirrors and seats, cruise control, power driver’s seat, keyless entry, and cargo side rails, the LT is usually the first place people go when shopping for a car. The RS model I tested came standard with six speakers, ANC, LED taillights, and 18-inch alloys. There were six speakers, cloth and faux leather upholstery, a leather-coated steering wheel, and more. Buying extra accessory packs was necessary to include features like wireless charging, LED headlights, a high-quality radio, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a 120-volt power outlet.

Two three-cylinder turbocharged engines power the Trailblazer, just like the new Buick Encore GX. You can purchase one of these engines from any store. A 1.2-liter engine producing 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque is standard on the front-wheel-drive models. A continuously variable gearbox (CVT) is connected to this engine. Vehicles with all-wheel drive typically use the 1.3-liter engine that my tester is driving through, which generates 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is also standard.

You shouldn’t be in such a hurry, even though the little engine will get you where you need to go. On the highway, you’ll need to carefully plot your moves due to the slow acceleration and lack of passing power. In an attempt to hit higher speeds faster and save petrol, the nine-speed transmission shifts a lot, giving the appearance that there are more gears than are really necessary. It tends to maintain the engine at about 1,100 revolutions per minute when going at a respectable speed, where it rumbles along with an annoying growl. While I was driving the Encore GX, I noticed that I was somewhat happier with this engine. 2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Reviews

2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Fuel Economy

The Trailblazer with all-wheel drive has an official rating of 8.9 liters per hundred kilometers in city driving, 7.8 liters per hundred kilometers on highway driving, and 8.4 liters per hundred kilometers combined driving. Without exerting much effort, I managed to achieve 8.4 liters per hundred kilometers during my week with it.2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Price

However, gasoline is essential for almost all products sold here, and it seems that the difference between three and four cylinders is negligible. Vehicles with ratings between 8.4 and 8.6 include the Honda HR-V, Toyota C-HR, Nissan Qashqai, Hyundai Kona, and Ford EcoSport, according to rivals. Numerous other rivals exist. 2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Reviews

2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Safety Features

At its most basic level, the LS includes standard equipment like the obligatory rearview camera, lane-keeping assist, a tire-pressure monitoring system, a tire fill alert (that tells you when a tire is filled to the right pressure), and emergency front braking with pedestrian detection.

Rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and rear park assist are available as upgrades. Choose between the LT, Activ, or RS trim levels to get these features. Adaptive cruise control was a part of the technology package that my tester came with. As it adjusted to vehicles weaving in and out of its path, the Trailblazer’s system may be a bit jerky, even though most of these technologies have been significantly improved to make them much smoother. But it managed to keep its distance from the cars ahead of it. 2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Reviews

2026 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Price and Release Date

Like other vehicles in its class, the Trailblazer starts at a price that falls somewhere between $23,798 and $30,498. The HR-V, C-HR, and EcoSport all have lower starting prices but higher final prices; in contrast, the Kona and Qashqai have lower starting prices but higher final prices.

But even though my test car had a lot of amenities and cost $35,083, I still didn’t think it was worth it. Plastic predominated inside, and features like dual-zone climate control and built-in navigation—standard on higher-end vehicles—were missing. Also, I wish I could have bought a sunroof separately from the power liftgate, because I really appreciate that feature and would have liked to have it on my car, but I don’t like sunroofs in general and panoramic ones in particular.
